1.Who is responsible
Trivela, which runs the GOALS Pro League (“GPL”), is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact the league staff on the GPL Discord server for anything about your data.
2.What we collect
From Discord, when you sign in. Your Discord user id, username, avatar and the email address on your Discord account, plus the sign-in tokens Discord issues so that the session works. We ask Discord only for your identity and email, not for your messages, friends or other servers.
From you, on your profile. Your GPL handle, in-game name, country, platform, a short bio, links to your Twitter, Twitch or YouTube if you add them, and a picture if you upload one. Country and the social links are optional.
From playing. The fixtures you took part in, which side you were on, scores, lobby codes while a lobby is open, whether you pressed “we’re in the lobby”, your ratings and every change to them with the arithmetic behind it, your club memberships and roles, the transfer ledger of your club in the league’s fictional currency, and your place in queues.
From the GOALS game. When you verify your GOALS account, its GOALS user id. From then on we read your recent match history from the GOALS public API in order to find and settle league fixtures you are in. We store the id of a game we matched to a fixture and its score; we do not store your wider match history.
From the Discord server. The bot records that you are a member of the GPL server, refreshes your username and avatar when you interact with it, and keeps the ids of messages and threads it posted about your fixtures so it can edit them later.
From linked services, if you link them. If you connect a Trivela account, the fact of the link and a label for it. If you connect a Goalsverse club, its id, name and public address.
Staff actions. An audit log of what league staff did to accounts, clubs and fixtures, which names the staff member and the thing acted on.
3.Why, and on what basis
- To run the league — sign you in, put you in fixtures, settle results, compute ratings and tables, run clubs and divisions, and send you the notifications those need. This is performance of the agreement in the terms of service.
- To keep the competition honest — detect duplicate accounts, verify who played, investigate reports and apply sanctions. This is our legitimate interest in a fair league, which every player shares.
- To message you on Discord — reminders before a booked kick-off, a lobby code going up, a transfer offer. You can turn direct messages from the bot off in Discord’s own settings.
- To keep the service working — logs of errors and requests, kept briefly by our hosting providers.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
4.What is public
GPL is a league, and a league is public by nature. Your handle, in-game name, avatar, country, platform, bio, social links, club, ratings, rank, match history with scores, and your place in tables and leaderboards are visible to anyone on the site, signed in or not. Your Discord username may be shown beside them. Your email address, Discord user id and sign-in tokens are never public.
Lobby codes are shown only to the players in that fixture, while it is open.
5.Who else sees it
- Discord, which handles sign-in and carries every message the bot sends. Discord’s privacy policy applies to your Discord account.
- The GOALS public API, to which we send the GOALS user ids of players in a fixture in order to read the game’s record of it.
- Trivela and Goalsverse, sister projects of this one, which receive your GPL account id when you choose to link an account or club, and nothing otherwise.
- Vercel, which hosts the website and stores uploaded pictures, and may process requests outside the European Union under its standard contractual clauses.
- Our database and bot host in Germany, in the European Union.
We do not share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it. League staff can see the data described here in order to run the league.
6.Cookies
The site sets one cookie: the session that keeps you signed in. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts that set their own.
7.How long we keep it
Your account and profile for as long as you have an account. Match records, scores and rating history for as long as the league keeps its history, because they are also every other participant’s record. Lobby codes until the fixture closes. Notifications for about an hour after they are sent. The staff audit log for as long as it is needed to explain a decision.
8.Your rights
You can see and change your profile on the site at any time. You can disconnect a linked Trivela account on trivela.team, and the link here ends with it. You can leave the Discord server, and stop the bot messaging you, through Discord.
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Message the league staff on Discord. When we delete an account we remove your profile, email, Discord identity and sign-in tokens; your past fixtures stay on the record without your name on them. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
9.Children
GPL is not for anyone too young to hold a Discord account under Discord’s terms. If we learn we hold data about such a person we will delete it.
10.Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change is announced on the Discord server. The current version is always at this address.
