Terms of service

The rules for using the GOALS Pro League website, Discord bot and competitions.

In force from 2026-09-23. See also the privacy policy.

1.Who we are and what these terms cover

The GOALS Pro League (“GPL”, “we”) is a competitive league for the video game GOALS, run by Trivela. It consists of this website at goalsproleague.com, the GPL Discord server and the bot that runs in it, and the competitions they organise: ranked and friendly lobbies, clubs, the divisions and tournaments.

These terms are an agreement between you and Trivela. By signing in, joining the Discord server, or taking part in any fixture, you accept them. If you do not, do not use GPL.

GPL is a community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the makers of GOALS, Discord or any other company named here.

2.Your account

  • You sign in with your Discord account. One person, one GPL account: a second account on another Discord identity is not allowed, and both may be removed.
  • You must be old enough to hold a Discord account under Discord’s own terms. If you are under eighteen you confirm that a parent or guardian agrees to you taking part.
  • Your handle, in-game name and everything else on your profile must be your own and must not impersonate anyone or infringe anyone’s rights.
  • To host, join or queue for a fixture you must verify the GOALS account you play on. That account must be yours. Playing a fixture on somebody else’s account, or letting somebody play on yours, is a sanctionable offence.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell staff if you think somebody else has access to it.

3.Fair play

Do not:

  • Cheat, exploit bugs in GOALS or in this service, or use any software that gives an unfair advantage.
  • Fix a result, deliberately lose, or collude with an opponent over a scoreline.
  • Report a score you know to be false, or confirm one your opponent reported that you know to be false.
  • Abuse, harass, threaten or discriminate against another player, on the site, in Discord or in the game.
  • Share a lobby code with anybody who is not in that fixture, or otherwise let outsiders into a league game.
  • Interfere with the service: scraping, automated requests beyond ordinary use, or attempts to reach data or functions you are not authorised for.

4.Fixtures, results and ratings

A fixture is played in a GOALS lobby whose code is posted on this site. Where a player on each side has verified their GOALS account, the result is read from the game’s own record through the GOALS public API and written to the fixture automatically. Where it cannot be, both sides report and confirm the score.

Ratings, ranks, league tables and form are computed from those results by a published model and are ours to define, adjust and recalculate. They carry no monetary value.

League staff may correct a result, record one by hand for a game played outside the site, void a fixture, or annul a rating change where a rule of these terms was broken or the record is wrong. Staff decisions on results are final.

A fixture that is scheduled and not played within the windows the site shows may be written off, cancelled, or recorded as a forfeit under the competition’s rules in force at the time.

5.Clubs, divisions and the transfer economy

Clubs are founded, run and disbanded by their members. A club’s owner and captains speak for it: they book its games, sign and release players and enter it into competitions, and they accept that their actions bind the club.

Club budgets, player values and transfer fees are a fictional currency. They are shown in euros for flavour only, have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged, and we may reset or rebalance them at any time.

Places in the divisions are allocated by league staff. Staff may remove a club from a division, void its fixtures or apply a points sanction for breaches of these terms or of the competition rules published on the site or in Discord.

6.Sanctions

Breaking these terms can lead to a warning, a voided result, removal from a competition, a temporary or permanent ban from GPL, or removal from the Discord server, at staff’s discretion and in proportion to the breach. We may act on evidence from the game’s records, from the site, from Discord or from other players.

You may ask staff to review a sanction by messaging them on Discord. Staff will say how they decided.

7.Your content

You keep the rights to what you upload and write: crests, avatars, biographies, club names and descriptions. You give Trivela a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show that content on the site, in Discord and in material about the league, for as long as it is on the service. You must have the right to upload it; do not use a crest, name or image that belongs to somebody else.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, the law or the reasonable expectations of other players, without notice.

8.Availability and changes

GPL is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a result will always be detected, or that the service will continue in its current form. We may change, pause or close any part of it, including a season, and we may change these terms; a changed version applies from the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use GPL after that date is acceptance of it.

9.Liability

To the extent the law allows, Trivela and the league’s staff are not liable for any loss arising from your use of GPL, from a result, rating or sanction, or from the conduct of other players. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10.Ending your account

You can stop using GPL at any time, and you can leave the Discord server at any time. To have your account deleted, message the league staff on Discord. Match records stay, because they are also other players’ records, but they are no longer attributed to you; the privacy policy explains what is kept.

11.Contact

Questions about these terms go to the league staff on the GPL Discord server. Staff are listed there.
